RideSmart Bike To Work Day 2017

In partnership with Commuter Connections, 18,700 metropolitan Washington area commuters participated in one of the nation’s largest Bike to Work Day (BTWD) events. This event encourages people to get on a bike and commute to work. BTWD incentivizes commuters to consider and support bicycling as a healthy commuting option that has many benefits, including reduced commuting costs, less traffic congestion, and improved air quality. For many, this event motivates participants to consider biking to work as a practical option for the daily commute

Prince George's County, RideSmart was a proud contributor with Bike to Work Day 2017 that happened on Friday, May 19th. Here in Prince George's County, we had a total of 11 pit stops for bikers to choose from. We were out and about at the Bowie Town Center location where fun things were available for all who came through. Water or Gatorade was provided for hydration as well as free bike-related gifts such as bike lights, reflective snap bracelets, and water bottles. New this year, commuters were asked to draw out their routes on a large scale map. The event in all was a success and we can't wait to see what great initiatives are planned for next year.
